10-08-09 Parkers Birthday
Parker insisted on having a Ghostbusters birthday party. I guess it is true the 80's have returned! Ghostbusters party decor is only available on e-bay for a pretty price so we printed off pics. and used red, white, and green streamers and balloons. It turned out great! Parker and I made green slime out of borax and glue for the party. We also made a green slime cake and another kind of slime from cornstarch and water. The guest list for the party consisted of 10 of Parkers little friends and Auntie Kathy. The kids played with slime, went on a ghost hunt, slimed the cake, and caught a ghost with silly string. Everyone had so much fun, especially parker. What kid doesn't love a little green slime!

Weekend Update
Last week was busy!! Between swim team, soccer, Young Womens, school, running.....it was crazy. Parker had a soccer game last Thursday, he was on fire. He scored 4 goals! I don't want to give the wrong impression, the other team walked all over us, but Parker did great. So over the weekend Jon and I took our yearly trip to St. George to run the marathon, we wouldn't want to break tradition. We left the kids with Jessie and headed out Friday afternoon. All went as usual, we went to the expo, ate the oh so yummy spaghetti dinner, didn't hardly sleep, got up at the crack of dawn, froze at the starting line, and started the 26.2 mile trek with the goal of making it to the finish line in 4hrs. Everything was going great for me especially after mile 11 or so when I decided my goal was no longer 4hrs, but finishing...and taking my sweet time. Jon was determined. He left me in the dust only to have to turn around and run back a mile to give my inhaler and then run really fast to catch back up with the 4hr pacer (took him 4 miles to catch them). All was well, Jon was on track, I was enjoying every sweet orange and banana along the way and still only adding about 20min. to my forgotten goal. At mile 23 I had decided one last orange and a sip of gatorade and I would push through the last 3.2 miles no problem. I was doing math in my head (not my strongest subject), and thinking that Jon would probably be close to finishing and he would undoubtedly walk back up the course to run with me through the finish line, that was when something black and grey laying on the side of the road caught my eye. Yep, it was Jon, and an oxygen tank and a medic. I strolled over wondering what had happened. He was in bad shape, tingly hands, white as a ghost, dizzy....it was bad. He wanted to try to walk the rest of the way but the nurse advised against it, and honestly he could hardly stand up.....so at mile 23 we took the SHUTTLE (yes, I took the shuttle too, I didn't want to leave him not knowing where I would find him or in what condition). We rode down oxygen in tow and got dropped at the medical tent at the finish line. After a little medical attention and some rest he was released. Lesson learned, your body can REALLY only do so much before it just stops. We were both a bit disappointed. Despite the disappointment we had a fun weekend together. We are deliberating running another race in 6 weeks just to finish....we shall see. We came home Sunday evening to smiling faces....after being away for a couple of days you forget how adorable the kids are....and how loud. We are all home safe and sound...and a little sore. All in all a great weekend!

Pool & Field
This weekend was packed full of sporting events for the Celaya Crew. Jonathan had a swim meet on Friday and Saturday and Parker had a soccer game on Saturday. Jonathan has a new nickname: Jonafin....he had an excellent day in the water on Friday cutting his times in all three events by about 12 seconds or more. My all time favorite for Friday was his 100 breastroke. He dove in, swam his little heart out, did a two had touch and then.....a flip turn, and he was efficient, he did flip turns each and every length, totalling 3. For those of you who are not swimming enthusiats, it isn't legal to do flip turns in breastroke (not even if you do your two had touch before you flip....I checked). I loved every minute of that race, it was really cute, and funny. I guess if your going to get disquallified just be blatently obvious. Friday evening was fun. Our neighbors brought up their big camper and we had dinner. The neighbors let Jonathan, Ella, and I camp in the parking lot with them for the night. Jonathan sped through his events on Saturday contiuing to better each of his times again by 1o seconds or more.
On the other end of the valley Jon and Parker were off to the soccer field for their big game. Jon coaches Parkers team, Purple People Eaters. Parker played awesome! He is really aggressive and gets right in the middle of things. Jon said that he played hard and ran fast and scored two goals!! Parker was really excited, we call him the Soccer Stud.
Just FYI I have no pics from this weekend because I forgot the camera...I know...brilliant!
